Holiday At The Sea

"The enjoyment of God is the only happiness with which our souls can be satisfied. To go to heaven, fully to enjoy God, is infinitely better than the most pleasant accommodations here on earth. Earthly fathers and mothers, husbands, wives, children and earthly friends, are all 'shadows'. But God is the 'substance'. All earthly delights are but 'scattered beams'. But God is the sun. All earthly delights are but 'streams'. But God is the ocean."

So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

"Worshiping in spirit is the opposite of worshiping in merely external ways. It is the opposite of empty formalism and traditionalism Worshiping in truth is the opposite of worship based on an inadequate view of God. Worship must have heart and Worship must engage emotions and thought.
Truth without emotion produces dead orthodoxy and a church full (or half full) of artificial admirers (like people who write generic anniversary cards for aliving). On the other hand, emotion without truth produces empty frenzy and cultivates shallow people who refuse the discipline of rigorous thought. Buttrue worship comes from people who are deeply emotional and who love deep and sound doctrine. Strong affections for God rooted in truth are the bone and marrow of biblical worship."– John Piper Desiring God Page 81-82

My Jesus, my wonderful Messiah,
though for my sake you became poor,
the eternal God has set you on high.

You were perfect Prophet, Priest and King,
swallowing all of my sins and making them no more,
free from myself, for your glory I sing.

Here rises the Son, watch holiness emanate,
fragrance of a Savior's son, the world will abhor,
for His glory and our gladness, His children remanate.

I will exalt you, my God the King;
I will praise your name for ever and ever.

to all who call on him in truth.
He fulfills the desires of those who fear him;
he hears their cry and saves them.
The LORD watches over all who love him,
but all the wicked he will destroy.
My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD .
Let every creature praise his holy name
for ever and ever.

This is a great play on words.
